Ta Pum, sul fronte della guerra(Original article in Italian)

From the Stelvio to the sea, 1.500 kilometers, the stages of memory.

ALTO GARDA-"The way of memory: more than 1500 km from the Stelvio to the sea," is the title of the project of "Ta Pum" on the occasion of the centenary of the Great War.

A project born to know and understand the story through the promotion of a "path of memory" in places, from the Stelvio to the sea, scenery of the first great tragedy that last Millennium saw unfortunately protagonist 1914-1918.

The association "Ta Pum" (from the sound of the gunshot, also made famous by a song sung by many choirs in the mountains) is composed of other associations: "L'Uomo Libero", the "Accompagnatori di Territorio del Trentino", the "Ev-K2-CNR" Committee, a private and independent for over twenty years proposes and implements projects of scientific and technological research in high altitude and, finally, the CNR, the National Research Council, major Italian institution with the "mission" to create value through the knowledge generated by research.

«With this project - says Walter Pilo, president of "L'Uomo Libero" - we want to involve anyone (citizens, climbers, tourists, scholars, operators of communication and information, representatives of institutions) who "thirst" to know what it meant and still means that event. "Ta Pum" is an itinerary in stages, a historic scientific expedition, a communication product if you will, a project open to all collaborations. An itinerary of about 1,500 km, divided into sixty stages, which connects the places whose history is linked to the Great War.

On five major fronts - specifies Pilo - from Stelvio to Adamello passing through the Giudicarie, then follow the line of the Highlands, Cadore, Carnia and the front of Giulia, including the places where the conflict had its hardest moments. I speak about the fighting in the territory of Asiago, Bassano, Vittorio Veneteo up to Redipuglia through Trentino Alto Adige, Lombardia, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia, thanks to the support of many municipalities and provinces that gladly give us a hand.»

On 24 May 2015, on the occasion of the centenary of the entry into the war against Austria, will start a historic mountaineering expedition that will trace the entire irinerary, from Livigno to Monfalcone: "not to forget".
